Why not check out the quality of our digital recordings - Play Sample
We have stretched the usual definition of percussion ensemble music, features such a strong rhythmic form and absence of legato have guided our selections from the works of classical composers - much of it keyboard based.

The piano is not generally thought of as a percussion instrument but the keys activate hammers that hit strings. The piano quickly replaced the plucked string keyboards such as the harpsichord and so it is, perhaps, not that surprising that other tuned percussion instruments can replace the piano in some pieces of music with quite startling benefits. In some cases even moderately sustained notes are beyond percussion instruments and for this reason combinations of steel drums with other instruments seem to be most effective. These include a synthesized harp, a mega moog synthesizer, a vibraphone, a marimba and on occasion a flying sine pad where the temperament of the music will permit it.
Steel Drums and Mega Moog :
Percussion Music Features
The advantages of the steel drums include their crisp, prompt rise time at the start of the note, the absence of some of the overtones of the piano, their distinctive response to the repeated drumming sounds sections found in some pieces and the relaxed, sunshine associations with the Caribbean. The tuneful response of synthesized metal (steel) drums bring drama and a fresh new world atmosphere to the European music we have selected.
Download percussion ensemble music to hear those sunny Caribbean tones in tunes that will make you smile when they are presented in this way.
There is a wide range of emulated percussion instruments to choose from and we have used marimba, a classic mega moog, hammond organ, harp, and vibraphone to provide contrasting, complementing and or bass parts in different combinations to augment the contribution of the metal drums.
We seek to add value by presenting percussion music features in new and exiting ways, freed from the technical constraints that applied to the composer but keeping faithful to the score.
